This explains what information Leathley Joinery keeps about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Leathley Joinery is a joinery business run by Alexei Leathley, a sole trader based in Greater Manchester. We are responsible for your information. Contact us at alexei.leathley96@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What we keep

• Your name, email address, phone number and the address of the work.
• Quotes, your acceptance or decline (including the name you type), job dates and notes about the work.
• Photos of the work we do at your property.
• Invoices and records of payments.
• Basic sign-in records for the customer portal (your email address and when you signed in).

Why we keep it

• To quote for, carry out and invoice your work (this is needed for our contract with you).
• To keep business and tax records, which the law requires.
• To keep the customer portal secure, so only you can see your quotes and invoices.

We don't sell your information, and we won't send you marketing without asking first.

Who else handles it

Only we can see your records. They are stored by companies that provide our systems, who handle them only on our instructions:

• Supabase: stores the portal's records (servers in the EU).
• Netlify: hosts this website.
• Google (Gmail): sends portal sign-in codes and our emails.

Payments and accounts are also handled through our business bank.

How long we keep it

• Invoices and payment records: at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year, as HMRC requires.
• Quotes that don't go ahead: deleted when no longer needed, usually within 2 years.
• Photos and job notes: kept with the job record. Ask us if you'd like photos removed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it (except records we must keep by law). You can also object to how we use it. Just email us.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
